Ring In the Fourth!

Sound the note of freedom mainly where
Tyrants ruled with ugly iron cutting hand;
Plant some new ideas, too, and fill the air
With constructive talk and needed cleansing change!

Mark the SPOT of ev'ry daring "here-deed,"
Nothing now to loosen well and go to close
Evil's grip and hurry on to intercede
For the ones who did all wrong oppose!

Flags unfurl and floral wreaths lay down,
Battles note, while aging heartaches heal;
Make for heroes fitting praise and crown;
Greatness now for them at last reveal!

Silent stand erect in firmly ordered lines,
In the thought of tragedy so far afield,
Honor them with public marking signs
Because to enemies they did not feebly yield!

-My Grandfather.
